The Challenge

Tasca Automotive Group is a family-owned collection of dealerships throughout New England. Family owned since 1943, Tasca has embarked on an aggressive growth campaign and plans to add three dealerships a year either through new construction or acquisition. They also have a central call center and a thriving on-line parts sales business. They needed a centralized system that could connect all their current network and talk needs as well as grow with them in the future.

I am the partner at this firm primarily responsible for handling IT matters and I wanted to write to commend the outstanding efforts of Kathi-Ann, James, and the rest of the Beacon Telecom team involved in our recently completed upgrade from a Nortel Norstar network to an Ayava network. This firm has been a client of Beacon Telecom’s for many years and our recent superb experience certainly confirmed that we made the right decision in staying with Beacon to upgrade our system.

The process started with Mike Richards, who also did an excellent job, who had to compete with other vendors to pitch us on our new phone system. As a law firm, our phone system is obviously critical to us and we wanted to make sure we thoroughly explored our options before making a choice. After going through that process, and factoring in our long and excellent history with Beacon, we decided to move forward with the Avaya System that Mike recommended. Kathi-Ann shepherded us all through the process very well, coordinating the various parties involved, including our often less-than-helpful outsourced IT provider. When James came in to actually upgrade the system, our entire team was very thoroughly impressed with both his obvious technical knowledge and his interpersonal skills – pleasantly dealing with any and all questions and requests, and patiently teaching us how to use the new system. He also did a great job on the completely thankless task of turning our hopelessly cluttered server closet into something far, far better organized.

It’s unfortunately too rare that service providers meet or exceed every expectation and keep the customer thoroughly informed throughout the process, and I wanted to be certain to pass along this note of appreciation to you for the great job performed by your team.
