Network Engineer (Canton, MA)
Beacon is one of the area’s leading providers of unified communications solutions. Beacon Telecom serves clients throughout New England from our headquarters in Canton, Massachusetts.
The Network Engineer will provide installation, maintenance, and support services for a variety of telecommunications and networking applications. This will include both remote and on-site services for Beacon Telecom’s private business and government client base. Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide support to implementation and support teams through Quality of Service models, IP addressing schemes, VLAN design, and security compliance
- Evaluate and analyze network performance to propose design and configuration requirements to meet the performance needs of a converged network
- Thoroughly and accurately document all active projects
- Serve as a primary point of contact for external clients and internal teams
- Travel to private and government client sites for product installations, routine maintenance, and problem troubleshooting as needed
- Provide remote support to technical and non-technical staff on client sites
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or another related field
- Some internship or professional experience in IT or telecommunications preferred
- Basic knowledge of networking technology required
- Knowledge of wired, wireless WAN/LAN technologies is a plus
- Technical ability to troubleshoot complex network issues across multimedia and vendor diverse environments
- Self-motivated and continually seeking out opportunities for professional development
- Professional and charismatic customer service skills a must
- Ability to work on-site in Canton, MA daily
- Ability to travel for work as needed

Direct Manager: Head of Engineering
Telecommunications Field Technician (Canton, MA)
Position Overview:
Beacon Telecom Inc. is currently looking for an entry level Telecommunications Field Technician to assist our service and engineering teams with ground support extending from implementation to post-cut support and preventative maintenance.
Compensation:
- Hourly with ability for OT
- PTO

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:
- Assist service department with post installation customer support and maintenance
- Assist implementation teams in deployment of products and solutions
- Perform Moves Adds & Changes (MAC) Work
- Maintain and troubleshoot station routing, call vectors, and auto attendant menus
- Maintain accurate accounting of service order notes including time entry and work performed
Competencies
- Basic Knowledge of structured cabling standards
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
- Capacity to travel to customer locations throughout greater New England
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
- Ability to conduct oneself in a professional and courteous manor
- Aptitude to perform work as a team player in accomplishing shared goals
